Hello, my dearest readers!
Today, I bring you news of something that has been a work-in-progress for quite a while, but I’ve kept it mostly under wraps until now. I intend on publishing my first-ever poem collection, featuring the poems you already know and love (or have complicated feelings towards).
Structure of my Collections
The way I envision my poem collections is that each of them will feature a handful of specific themes. I’m sure you’ve already noticed how each poem is labeled with its predominant overarching theme, and those themes will be the basis of the collections as well.
My First Collection
With that said, what is this first one going to be about? Well, I don’t wish to reveal everything just yet, but I can confidently say the following:
The collection is named everyone has fucked up pasts.
It will feature the following themes:
All poems in it have previously been released here on the blog (or will be when I write them).
For each poem, the collection will feature a “Behind the Poem” section, providing insight into the circumstances of and my thoughts on the poem. These reflections have and will not be released on the blog itself.
In terms of the progress I’ve made on the collection so far, it’s actually going pretty well. I haven’t decided on a cut-off point for new poems yet, so the exact number of poems it’ll feature is still to be decided. I’m working on fine-tuning my reflections for each of the existing poems, and I’ve even managed to design a cover that I’m very proud of and very excited to show to the world!
There’s also a bit of fluff that still needs work, such as introductions, a table of contents, etc.
Overall, progress is good! I’ll be overhauling the Publications page of the blog to feature what I’ve revealed so far as well.
Release and Availability
Regarding an exact release date, I make no promises. My poetry and the blog itself are a creative project of mine and not a job. I work on the collection when I feel like it, and therefore, I can’t say exactly when it will be done.
However, regarding the format, I intend to utilize Blurb as a printing service. This means that the collection will be available as a physical book, printed on demand whenever an order for it is placed. It will be available through Blurb’s own bookstore, and I’ll consider opening up for wider release depending on how everything plays out.
Blurb has printing services available in most parts of the world, so you should be able to grab a copy without too much hassle no matter where you’re situated. I’m not sure where I stand on a potential e-book release, but I’ll consider that once I’m nearing the actual release date.
I have not decided on an exact price tag just yet, but Blurb’s services are relatively inexpensive and I don’t do what I do for the money, so don’t expect horrendous prices.
Final Thoughts
I’m overjoyed to bring you all the news of my work! I’m extremely excited to release the collection once it’s ready and I hope you all will find it to your liking.
If you’re as excited as me, I’d love to hear your thoughts! I realize that the commenting system here on Blogger is a bit of a dinosaur, so you can also find me through the links in the sidebar under Want Post Updates? as well.
Thank you for your attention and support thus far and I hope for the best going forward~
