I remember

playing with toys

sitting on the floor, concerned with nothing but my imagination

I remember

playgrounds

the games my friends and I would play together

I remember

road trips with my parents

getting lost in the terrain we drove by

I remember

boxed lunches

both the boring ones and the ones filled with goodies

I remember a childhood

And yet, I feel so disconnected from this memory

I feel a void

Because even if I remember a childhood

I don't remember ever being a child
