A Death in a Living Body

Have you ever died while your body lived on?

Pieces of your mind shriveling up and starting to decay.

Pieces of your soul.

Pieces of the very fabric that makes you, you.

I've already died but my body lives on.

I exist within a cocoon, a bubble.

Inputs don't register any longer.

The synapses have overloaded and can no longer react.

I'm left only with the echo of my own dead thoughts.

Reverberating inside my empty skull.

I wish my body too would die.

Break down into its natural components.

Become one with nature once more.

And finally, allow my thoughts to escape.

Allow my dead mind to rest.
